The rent is too darn high, globally
Prices in major cities around the world are on the rise, and municipal governments are at a loss as to how to stymie the growing affordable housing crisis. The Wall Street Journal notes that 32 global cities' real home prices on average grew 24% over five years, while average income rose only 8% in the same time period. Reasons for the massive price growth are diverse, including a movement back into cities from suburbs, as well as a global migration of wealthy people.
