The problem with productivity
Productivity has become its own industry with countless books and workshops on how to save time and accomplish more. But is the key to being productive really about managing time? Adam Grant writes in The New York Times that time management is part of the problem, with the real solution being "attention management," or focusing on the few things that really matter — no matter how long they take.

Productivity is often confused with "getting stuff done." For example, I've seen where reports and presentations are completed. This has nothing to do with productivity. To me, in the strictest sense, the end game (in my case, making a sale) is what shows whether I was productive. Completing a bunch of busy work is not productivity; it really is a waste of time and a distraction away from your ultimate goal. Yes, there are some details that need to be done. However, we (meaning me) need to understand doing "too much prep" really is counterproductive.
