Standing out among job seekers
A lot of people are starting to look for work after being let go from work. The crowded field of candidates means a person needs to stand out to get noticed. Jessica Hernandez, president and CEO of Great Resumes Fast, says in the latest edition of #GetHired that it’s important to make an impression at the top of your resume by highlighting a specific position with keywords. Additionally, she says you need to offer quantifiable examples of your work to show the value you can bring to a company. As for your LinkedIn profile, she said it should not just be a copy-and-paste version of your resume.

Jobseekers need to create a targeted resume and LinkedIn profile while also demonstrating adaptability. The keywords and accomplishments should speak to your ability to do the job, as well as, how you're able to pivot and wear different hats. We're in a fluid situation where job descriptions and employer's needs are changing as rapidly. So be the person who can pivot. Then don't expect your resume to do the selling for you. It's so important to take initiative and reach out to recruiters and hiring managers after submitting an application. Tell them how you can help and make their job easy. Fill a need. That's how you differentiate yourself. #GetHired #careers #jobseeker
