The bright side of the robo-pocalypse
Machines and algorithms are poised to displace 75 million jobs around the world over the next decade. But they will also help create 133 million positions during that same period, according to a report from the World Economic Forum. New tech will bring new opportunities, but it also means a vast portion of workers will need to be retrained. We’re already starting to see the effects of automation in the job market: while software and marketing gigs have been on the rise over the past five years, accountants and administrative assistant openings are on the decline, according to LinkedIn data.
