One in three UK firms plan job cuts

If your business is planning to make 20 or more staff redundant there is a requirement to notify the government by filing a form called an HR1 Advance Notice of Redundancy and engage in collective consultation with your staff. Figures obtained by the BBC show that in June plans to cut 20 or more jobs was five times higher than in the same month last year.

1,778 companies planned to cut over 139,000 jobs in June. Figures are very likely to be greater in July and moving forwards as the furlough scheme winds down. #ukeconomy #unemployment #covidrecovery
