Now GoT is over, will you cancel?
The final episode of “Game of Thrones” may have aired, but winter could just be coming for HBO’s streaming service HBO Now. Viewers are twice as likely to cancel their $14.99-per-month Now subscription once a particular show ends, according to new research, compared to all other streaming services. And as it works to hold on to its 8 million subscribers (stay tuned for the GoT spinoffs and prequel) HBO Now will face competition from new streaming services from Apple and Disney, both launching this year.
- Over one million unhappy fans had signed an online petition asking for a remake of the eighth and final season of GoT.

HBO suffers a seasonal drop rate, which has always been related to a particular series. Many subscribed just for this run of "Game of Thrones," as they have in the past for "The Sopranos" or "Westworld." At present, they probably won't be affected to any greater degree than usual.? However, their biggest potential competition has not launched yet. Disney Plus will be $7/month, with content that, in theory, can match any production value HBO can deliver.
