Netflix reaches 125M subscribers
It looks like more people want to Netflix and chill. The streaming service rocketed past subscriber growth targets in the first quarter, hitting 125 million subscribers, Business Insider reports. Netflix gained 7.4 million globally, after adding just shy of 5 million a year earlier. It also reported a profit of $290 million, or 64 cents a share, more than what it earned for all of 2016, according to MarketWatch. Original films and TV shows, like David Letterman’s “My Next Guest” and the “Queer Eye,” have helped boost the service’s popularity over the last several months, BI says.
