Median pay mostly rises in US

Twice as many U.S. companies reporting median pay were found to have raised rather than lowered the figure this year, according to The Wall Street Journal. Publicly traded companies were required to disclose the pay annually for the first time in 2018. Of the 282 major companies in the S&P 500 that reported for a second year, the Journal said 45 saw gains of at least 10% and 33 had declines at least that large.
