Nissan to slash jobs, production
Nissan plans to slash more than 12,500 jobs globally, as well as 10% of its production capacity, by 2023. The cuts, part of an overhaul for the Japanese carmaker, include the 4,800 already announced in May. Nissan has come under pressure following the arrest of its former chairman Carlos Ghosn in November, and has been hit by a continuous drop in sales in the U.S., a key market, as well as in Europe.
