First woman nominated as ECB head
Christine Lagarde has been nominated to head up the European Central Bank. The IMF's managing director won support from EU leaders to lead the eurozone's central bank after Mario Draghi’s eight-year term expires in October. Formal approval will likely come within months and would make Lagarde — dubbed the “rock star” of international finance — the first woman to hold the position and the first president without a background in central banking. The move could also trigger a complicated process to find a successor for the IMF.

Not sure one of the architects of the austerity that the Greek economy continues to face is the best choice. Another establishment figure appointed when what the ECB needs more of is fresh thinking and new ideas. Is such an establishment figure as Ms Lagarde the person to really lead change ?? , let us hope so but I would doubt it.?
