First it was plastic straws, then coffee cups, now two young campaigners concerned about the impact of plastic on the environment have turned their attention to McDonald's Happy Meals. They say that the plastic toys included with kids' meals cannot be recycled and usually end up in the trash, and have launched a petition that has already got 325,000 signatures. The campaign was launched by two children aged 10 and 7. McDonald's says it set up a global working group to address Happy Meal packaging last year.
