Indigo's 300-plane order
Indigo has placed a record order for 300 single-aisle aircraft of the Airbus A320neo family, Bloomberg reports. The deal, worth $33 billion at list prices, allows the airline to replace the older A320 fleet by 2022 and fuel its global growth plans. Indigo will get a mix of short- and long-haul planes, including the A321XLR mode (available by 2024) which can fly 8,700 km without refueling. IndiGo’s A320neo orders now stand at 730, making it the world’s biggest customer for these planes. The carrier recently launched services to Istanbul, Riyadh and Chengdu.
