Hustle culture worships workaholism
Young Americans are the least likely to affiliate with religion, but that hasn’t stopped them from finding their own form of worship. Workaholism has consumed the millennial workforce, fueling a growing culture of optimized performance and productivity, according to The New York Times. More companies are actively promoting “the hustle” while viral pro-productivity slogans call for workers to “rise and grind.” Apostles of hustling have risen to espouse the virtues of nonstop work, to the dismay of those who think workers are the ones being hustled.
