Yesterday while having breakfast I learned of the layoffs at Husky Energy. From what I can gather from the posts on LinkedIn, the people affected were some of the good ones I worked with and that is why I am compelled to write this post. Companies expand and contract, strategies change, and as a result people, families, employees are all affected. It is never an easy event to experience but it is one from which you can recover. These next few days will be a lot of soul searching, rethinking and and wondering how could I have avoided this outcome. Important to do but remember you are good people, you have control over what comes next. Opportunities to change careers, retrain, in some cases a geographical move, all is possible and nothing is impossible. So don’t dwell on the past think of the future. Whatever you decide remember, you have had success, you have performed well, you have learned new skills, you didn’t do anything wrong, and you are in control of your future.
I wish everyone luck in their decisions, and for those of you who I have worked with and know me please contact me privately through LinkedIn and I will do my best to help.

This is sad to see, just as the many layoff before these today.? I think Alberta and Canadian Energy industry woke up today and realized if they don't do something for themselves, nobody will.? It will interesting to see what Jason Kenney's next steps are.
