Heatwave kills 33 in Quebec
The extreme heatwave that has gripped central and eastern Canada has killed 33 people in Quebec province, health officials say. 18 people have died in Montreal, where it was expected to hit 45 degrees Celsius on Thursday, Reuters reports. Authorities said most of those who died were men aged 53 to 85 who lived without air-conditioning. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau expressed his sympathies on Twitter.
