100% agree with this. We all have that salary base rate that we won't go below (you can't pay the mortgage with an office fruit basket!), but it's the added extras that help make the choice between one company and the next. For me, it's the flexibility and trust to work from home when needed, wellness programs for body and mind, leave possibilities that sit outside the standard requirements, and learning opportunities for continuous growth. All these things make me feel less like a cog in a wheel and more like a valued individual, who is inspired to give back! One additional thing I think missing from the article is the team you work with. The way they interact and treat each other says loads about the organisation's leadership and culture - and how happy you will be working there long term.
