Facebook said Thursday it will begin fact-checking photographs and videos using technology and human reviewers. The move comes as the company tries to stop what it termed “misinformation in these new visual formats.” Facebook encountered problems with Russian propaganda promoting fake news through graphics and videos during the 2016 U.S. presidential election, according to special counsel Robert Mueller’s indictment earlier this year.
