Facebook makes $1B housing bid
Facebook is pledging $1 billion to boost affordable housing in California to produce up to 20,000 new housing units over the next decade. After contributing to the problem for years by employing droves of highly paid workers, Facebook follows Google and Microsoft (LinkedIn's parent) in addressing housing shortages on the West Coast. Separately, CEO Mark Zuckerberg will testify at a House committee meeting on Wednesday, where he is expected to address trust on the social media platform, as well as plans to launch a cryptocurrency.
