Exhausted in iso? Here's why
If you're feeling flat in isolation, the eruption of hundreds of extra tiny decisions we need to make amid the Covid-19 pandemic is to blame, argues Ben Newell, Professor of Cognitive Psychology at the University of NSW. Extra decisions — is it safe to go shopping, should I wear pyjamas on a Zoom chat — are leading to cognitive overload and can affect your ability to think clearly, but also lead to greater anxiety and sleeplessness. His advice? Recognise the situation’s complexity and 'divide and conquer' by separating your decisions.

This is the reality of all of us that have been routinized. I still get up at 4am and do all my routines and then realised that I have to "stay at home" even as I have dressed up??to stay safe. Amazingly, this happened in the first two weeks of the lock down. I have adjusted now and I hope I will be able to go back to routine!!! ??
