Incredible ... it would be enlightening to know each attendee's name. The Enron like culture of entitlement is embedded deep in PGE. Time to clean house massively, force sale of the company to regional government as partial atonement, and start running it as a service operation like EBMUD instead of a wealth concentration machine. Really ... Sacramento runs public power very effectively.

California is ablaze, the economic loss from turning off power to CA customers may top $2 Billion, and top customers are wined and dined before the switch is turned off. Look for Congress to get involved sooner rather than later.

High winds, low humidity, untrimmed vegetation, and a bankruptcy suit — all these factors combined led utility company PG&E to plan a power outage that could affect 2.4 million people in Northern and Central California over five days. California's power outage that has left close to 1 million people without electricity could cost the state economy $2.5 billion and small businesses are getting hit the worst. Unlike larger corporations, local shops often don't have power generators to keep the lights on, forcing them to close their doors until the power comes back on. PG&E has said up to 34 counties across the state will be impacted and it could be five days until electricity is reinstated. How are you dealing with the power outage? Pacific Gas and Electric’s customers aren’t the only ones that lost power this week. PG&E itself lost the exclusive control it had over its bankruptcy reorganization plan.

The outages are changing quickly, I'm told, and grocers are doing their best to save any frozen and refrigerated foods, source generators and stay open where they can so customers (who also lost power) can buy essentials.

No power for this California resident. Which means I’ll be living at coffee shops for the next few days. Have to say, it’s super interesting seeing how each of these organizations are handling and communicating the expected impact of the power shutoff.
