The Canadian Federation of Independent Business released their report on entrepreneurship in Canadian cities yesterday. It is a bit concerning to see Chatham-Kent near the bottom of the list. The report evaluated Canada’s 125 most populous communities against 13 key indicators that identified the current state of entrepreneurship in each community. The indicators included various demographic measures, earnings levels, optimism, growth plans and local tax policy. Attracting and retaining young professionals to our community is crucial if we want to survive, and thrive. And being seen as a welcoming environment for entrepreneurs is a key part of that. Thanks for the post and insight. As someone born and raised in Chatham, Ontario and moved back about 10 years ago, seeing my community near the bottom of the list is concerning. Clearly we've got some work to do.?
