Are Saudis ready to travel?

A new survey shows that 73% of Saudi nationals are confident to travel with restrictions partially lifted, according to travel booking company Almosafer. 38% of respondents said they will prefer to travel within the GCC region, while 35% have shown preference for domestic travel with Jeddah and Makkah as top chosen destinations. When it comes to safety, 60% of Saudi respondents said their decision will depend on the applied social distancing and protective equipment available in their destination, and 55% said it depends on safety measures by airlines and hotels. ?? Happy to share our latest project: The first survey of +3000 Saudi nationals highlighting their thoughts and sentiments about travel post COVID-19. The survey results highlighted that: - Passion for travel amongst Saudi nationals is remarkably resilient. - There is a need for in-depth information and guidance on safety regulations and restrictions in place via travel providers (airlines, hotels) as well as in-destination. - Domestic travel is of high interest post pandemic, which will support the accelerated development of domestic tourism in the Kingdom.
