Amazon employees want climate action
In a letter posted to Medium, more than 4,000 Amazon employees called on Jeff Bezos and the company to take greater responsibility towards climate protection. According to The New York Times, this is the largest employee-led environmental movement within the tech industry. The letter comes as companies in various industries are becoming more environmentally conscious:
- Apple said Thursday that 21 manufacturers in its supply chain will get all their electricity from renewable sources.
- Patagonia announced last week that it would no longer contract with companies that do not "prioritize the planet."
