Trump to leave G-7 early
President Trump plans to leave the G-7 summit early, according to the White House, for Singapore, where he plans to meet with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un next week, reports The New York Times. Trump is facing anger from the other major industrial nations in the Group of Seven over metals tariffs. Trump also prompted anger from leaders in attendance after suggesting that Russia be readmitted to the summit group. Russia was removed from the diplomatic forum in 2014, following its annexation of Crimea from Ukraine. Leaders from the U.S., Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan and Britain gathered on Friday and Saturday for the annual summit in Canada’s La Malbaie.
