Some 400,000 airline workers have been either furloughed, laid off or informed of retrenchment due to the pandemic, Bloomberg reports. Workers in Asia-Pacific make up 101,000 or about a quarter of these numbers, coming in behind North America (130,000) and Europe (117,000) in numbers of jobs impacted. The pain has spilled over to jobs in related industries like airports and travel agencies, where job losses could total 25 million this year, according to an industry association.
