参与Purple Economy & Open Networks体验活动简介
As per a WHO report, 15% of the world’s population is PWD (People With Disabilities). In India, that number ranges from 26 million people to 100 million. Add the family members/carers of a PwD and the population that is affected by disability could be about 300 Million people ~21% of our population.
The gap and hence the opportunity in this sector gave rise to a term coined by Shanti Raghavan as the Purple Economy. As per The Return on Disability report, this untapped market opportunity wields a purchasing power amounting to ~$8 trillion globally. And with interoperability and decentralization as the guiding principles, open networks hold the key to unlocking this immense economic potential.
through this event in an attempt to help social entrepreneurs understand the power of open networks to induce exponential change. The participants will be:
- Shanti Raghavan, Founder, EnAble India on how she’s reimagining the Purple Sector for persons with disabilities and how EnAble India is working with multiple stakeholders to create opportunities for persons with disabilities as participants of the economy.
- Sujith Nair, Co-founder, Beckn Protocol and CEO and Co-founder of FIDE, on how open networks play a role in unlocking the purple economy to make resources accessible to every PWD and also how other social organisations can start thinking of including everyone.
