参与Exploring depositar - a Public Research Data Repository Built on CKAN体验活动简介
Join us on 20 November 2024 for the next CKAN Monthly Live, where we spotlight depositar (https://data.depositar.io/en), an innovative public research data repository built upon CKAN. This session will feature insights into how depositar has empowered FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable) research data sharing and reproducible research, supported by a highly customized CKAN instance.
?? About depositar
Launched in 2018, depositar (or "研究資料寄存所" in Mandarin) is a generalist data repository developed by researchers to enable free deposit, discovery, and reuse of research data. With support from Academia Sinica and grants from Taiwan’s National Science and Technology Council, depositar has grown to host over 2,500 datasets and received 500,000+ unique views. Its users span universities, research institutions, and civic groups, particularly those involved in ecological monitoring.
Key features of depositar include:
- Accepting diverse data types and formats across academic disciplines.
- Enabling research communities in Taiwan to embrace open data practices.
- Leveraging CKAN’s flexibility to integrate tools like ARK persistent identifiers and Binder.
?? Why Attend?
This webinar is a unique opportunity to learn:
- How to facilitate FAIR data sharing using CKAN.
- Strategies for overcoming CKAN’s limitations as a research data repository.
- Ways to extend CKAN functionalities, including integration with Binder for computational reproducibility.
?? Presentation Overview
In this session, Cheng-Jen will cover:
- A brief history and feature highlights of depositar.
- CKAN extensions developed for research data repository adoption.
- Enhancing reproducibility with Binder integration for CKAN datasets.
