The conversation is much bigger than Return-to-Office these days. ? The DEI pushback and now Zuckerberg encouraging more "Masculine Energy" is setting us back decades. ? My purpose in life is to make work better for everyone. ? That's my North Star and guiding light when deciding on what to build within Grapevine or what to share outwardly. ? The conversation has shifted since the results of the election here in the United States. ? There's a reason this happened: The political pundits analyzed the data and saw a rise in young men moving to the right of the political spectrum. ? The reason? From the conversations I've heard, it was how the left focused on woman's rights. ? Somehow the focus on woman's rights suggested that men weren't represented on the democratic side. Therefore, young men went to outlets like Joe Rogan, Theo Von, and other so-called "Masculine" podcast to be represented. ? I'm not agreeing here but this was the trend. ? As many were surprised to hear Zuckerberg suggest we need more "Masculine Energy" in companies, I wasn't too caught off guard. ? Billionaires are opportunists. ? Zuckerberg saw a way to appeal to an audience that would be supportive of his moves and words over the next 4 years. ? He saw a way to bring Facebook back to the conversation. ? When he cut the content moderation and DEI initiatives from his platforms, he will reportedly save $5 Billion dollars a year (Yahoo! Finance). ? I'm not here to bash his statement because the full statement wasn't actually as shocking as the headlines were. ? I am here to say that as future of workers, we can't let the next 4 years of misinformation, disinformation, anti-flexible work, or the push for outdated management styles to re-enter our worlds. ? We need to stand strong in the foot holdings we've created over the past few years. ? We need to speak truth to power even when it's uncomfortable. ?
