So yesterday when I posted our Rittman students harvesting their hydroponic crops, I mentioned a small issue.? When we came into school after the weekend our lettuce was definitely wilted due to accidentally unplugging over the weekend. What a great teaching opportunity for all of us! We had to restore the turgor or hydrostatic pressure in the lettuce which makes living plant tissue rigid. The students harvested their lettuce leaving the complete root system in place and soaked them in water. Within minutes everything was beautiful! I wish you could’ve witnessed the excitement on their faces! Great way to review the plant cell and plant cell wall and its function! Paul Brentlinger?Jason Jurey?CropKing Inc
