The Irony of Return-to-Office Policies If being in the office is truly the only way to build productivity and culture, then why do companies: ?? Send their sales teams to conferences or client sites? ? Allow employees to work from airports, hotels, or coffee shops while traveling? ?? Operate multiple office locations, leaving teams still distributed across geographies? It’s clear: work gets done outside the office all the time, and teams collaborate fine across locations. So why the push for #RTO? It’s not about culture. It’s not about productivity. ?? More often, it’s about maintaining massive real estate leases and long-standing ties with the commercial property sector. But here’s the thing: culture and productivity aren’t tied to geography. They’re tied to connection and alignment—to giving employees the tools and trust to work together effectively, no matter where they are. This is me, working from New York City before starting my day. ?? Productive? Yes. ? Connected? Absolutely. ? Limited by my location? Not at all. ?? The future of work isn’t about where you sit. It’s about how you collaborate, stay aligned, and create impact together. ?? What do you think? Are companies stuck in the past with RTO mandates, or is there a better way forward? #FutureOfWork #RemoteWork #Flexibility #Alignment #WorkAnywhere #CompanyCulture
