I finally get to share a project I've been working on with several others for the past few months! On March 3rd, we'll be hosting at #AAAI25 a workshop titled "AI for Public Missions"!! This effort seeks to convene stakeholders around use-inspired problems important to organizations with a mission of public service. Already interested? More information at https://lnkd.in/evTwPtb8 There are in quite a few reasons why I'm thrilled about this effort. I plan on deep diving in future posts, but for now I'll highlight that: - The workshop is actively working to convene researchers, government bodies at all levels, and NGOs to drill down on what is currently being pursued and how research can align to better support active efforts. - The workshop welcomes both technical and operational (policy and process) submissions. - ALL submissions are required to include an "Application Context" section that helps tease apart the background and context under which the work is being made. - There are both researcher and government/NGO tracks, with appropriate submission options for both (fingers crossed for a USG breakout session!).
