I've been building Grapevine: Your Virtual Office Platform for the last year and some change.?? The challenging part isn’t building the product. I’m driven by the vision and the problem we’re solving—born out of my experience working 100% remotely. The struggle to communicate across the organization was harder than it needed to be. We used email. ?? We used Slack. ?? We used Zoom. ?? We used the company’s internal tool to communicate. ?? We had tools for each department that all involved communication. The issue isn’t using different tools; it’s the fragmented communication that happens across them. This disjointed approach makes it hard for distributed teams to stay aligned on crucial company updates. When teams aren’t aligned, what happens? Redundant work. ? Miscommunication. ????? Delayed timelines. ? Frustrated employees. ?? Lower productivity. ?? The list goes on when you don’t have a unified platform to communicate across the entire organization. So, what does this have to do with narrowing your messaging? Grapevine doesn’t just solve communication issues in remote and hybrid organizations—that’s the core problem we’re focused on, but other solutions emerge naturally as a result. Until recently ??, we were selling the vision instead of focusing on the immediate gap. As a founder, it’s tough to narrow your message because we fear downplaying the broader solution or limiting the future potential we know we’re building toward. But here’s the reality—customers don’t care about the future vision; they care about what you can do for them right now. I’ll keep this short—don’t let your ego or vision cloud your present success. Focus on solving your customers' immediate problems while steadily building toward the future. That’s how you truly progress.
