It's hard for me to think of a time I've failed...?? Not because I've never failed but because I've never let failure become the end of the situation. Instead, I turned the mistake or failure into a lesson learned to improve outcomes in the future. The steps I take to turn any mistake into intelligence in the future: 1?? Acknowledge a mistake or failure has taken place. 2?? Review the details needed to come to an understanding of the root cause of the issue. 3?? Analyze the root cause and define the actions it would take to avoid this in the future. 4?? Document the approach needed to help others avoid the mistake in the future. 5?? For companies, conduct a training and share where people can locate the document for guidance. In #Startups, taking this approach will help you build a strong foundation and prepare you when onboarding and training new employees. It will instill a culture of transparency and trust. Employees want to know they can take risk without fear of being let go due to a mistake. They want to know they are supported. And companies need to understand that this is the only way to truly have an innovative culture. And personally, you have to learn that mistakes are really just lessons that can be turned into intelligence in the future. ------------------------------- #StartupFounderFriday: I try to share insights that can help other founders. As I learn through experience and action, I want to be able to share the details in hopes it provides you perspectives or tips beyond your own surroundings. The more we share real experiences, the more we can overcome the pollution of #fakegurus. Please share with anyone who might find this post beneficial. #HappyFriday
