Clear and concise writing is crucial for effective communication, including written language. Research by?Harvard University?shows people are dramatically more likely to respond to shorter emails. Emails are a great way to manage expectations, get guidance from seniors and upward manage. A well-curated email with clear action areas indicating what is needed and when is such an under-appreciated skill. As someone dyslexic (+ #ADHD and #autism), I approach an email like I would like to receive them. There is a clear beginning, middle and end (almost like a story!). I also ensure any deadlines are clear. I use a lot of email formatting options. I use highlight, underling, changing colour and making things bold. Making your emails clear and easy to action is a skill for sure.
