Africa is embracing AI: - According to a?survey?from?management consulting firm Oliver Wyman,?over 60% of South African workers regularly use generative AI tools.?This is even more interesting when compared with comparative stats: they found only 41% of workers in France, 44% in the UK to be frequent users of AI.? - Google’s research has shown that AI-related Google searches in Kenya have jumped 150% in the past year. Almost 230% jump for queries about AI jobs.? - Kenya is now 13th globally when it comes to most searches about AI. LinkedIn's Chief Economic Opportunity Officer Aneesh Raman on a new era for our economy: As we go through each of these stages and transformations, think about the relationship oriented skills that will be needed. "Social abilities, EQ all of the skills we have as humans: critical thinking empathy, critical listening collaboration, that we have never valued at work are about to be the skills. So as you think about new categories of jobs emerging, you think about how your job is going to change. Know that the new era for the economy is going to be akin to a relationship economy and the people skills are going to matter most" - Aneesh - The full inaugural podcast season of,?Embedded?will be released in the fall 2024.

We hope you’re having a good summer. We continue to work on The Rundown. We are getting a great volume of tips on the go that are helpful for comms, AI and the storyteller in us. Take a look here. Our Co-Founder enjoyed a recent ‘pro-human’ conversation with Aneesh Raman, the Chief Economic Opportunity Officer at LinkedIn. We agree humanity matters more than ever in an era of AI. He explains how we are entering a new era for our economy. Aneesh says there are four clear phases: 1. Disruption happens 2. Our jobs change 3. New types of jobs emerge 4. We have a new economy https://lnkd.in/dn-GGGJb
