Last week, Zurich North America’s Tim Lynch, AVP State Affairs, along with Krista Scott, AVP Territory Leader Midwest, attended an event, “Navigating the Year Ahead: A Conversation with Austan Goolsbee on the Midwest Economy” hosted by the Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce. Goolsbee, the President of the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago and Chamber CEO Jack Lavin discussed the economic outlook in the Midwest and Chicago in the year ahead and opportunities and challenges in the region. Zurich North America AVP, State Affairs Tim Lynch was recently in Springfield, IL where he met with several state lawmakers including Illinois State Senator Ram Villivalam. Lynch and Sen. Villivalam discussed legislation in the Illinois General Assembly impacting insurance, Zurich North America’s legislative priorities, and our large economic footprint in the Chicagoland area. Last week, Zurich North America continued its efforts to educate the community and advocate on behalf of the insurance industry regarding social inflation and the unfair practices associated with Legal System Abuse. Several members of our team, including Allen Kirsh, Lynne Grinsell, Cody Griffin, CPCU, ARM, John Mizzi, and David Morgan joined our panels in Dallas, Houston, and San Antonio to engage with brokers and customers on the drivers and impact of lawsuit abuse, as well as ways to reverse the tide to create a fair and balanced legal system.
