Zulip is an organized team chat application, originally developed by Zulip Inc. The company was bought by Dropbox in 2014, and Dropbox open sourced the code in 2015. There is no current relationship between Dropbox and Zulip. The Zulip open source project took off almost immediately, and now has over 700 contributors from almost every part of the world.
