Staff and patients got a treatment for their taste buds at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center yesterday! ZSFG’s?Food and Nutrition Services Team held a food demo and tasting that was nothing short of eco-delicious (and nutritious). As part of the Health Care Without Harm Culinary Contest, Chef Mike and team served bites of?Rigatoni alla Norma, a plant-forward recipe featuring seasonal and fresh local ingredients, including Kabocha Squash, Jackfruit Pancetta, Cipollini Onions, Dandelion Greens, Toy Box Mushrooms, Piquillo Peppers, and homemade Cashew Ricotta! Staff and patients enjoyed a taste of the delectable pasta with crispy crostini toast, and, as a bonus, they could take home a sample of fresh house made pasta and squash puree. The team is competing against hundreds of hospitals in the plant-powered recipe contest. Winners will be announced in Spring 2025. Good luck FNS Team!? San Francisco Department of Public Health

Thank you to the wonderful group of nurse educators from #Switzerland who visited us recently. The team of healthcare leaders in government, schools, and hospitals, shared great conversations with our Chief Nursing Officer, Gillian Otway, and many of our nursing directors & managers about #innovation, patient care, the importance of collaboration, and the future of healthcare.? The group toured the campus, impressed by the buildings – both historic and modern, the art throughout the hospital, and the heart we put into putting patient care first.? During their visit with our Psychiatric Occupational Therapists, they experienced the sensory room where patients are provided tools and the opportunity to tune in to what emotions they’re experiencing at the moment, which helps improve their overall well-being. (Fun-fact, they were happy to see a poster of rolling hills of their homeland in the sensory room, bringing additional smiles and laughter to the group).?
