This Veterinary Technician Week, we celebrate the essential role veterinary technicians play in advancing animal health. Their dedication is critical to pet healthcare and food systems, as they assist in surgeries, perform diagnostic tests, and provide crucial emergency care. To support the next generation of veterinary technicians, the Zoetis Foundation is providing funding to the American Veterinary Medical Foundation (AVMF) through the Veterinary Technician Student Scholarship. Now in its third year, this initiative awards $2,000 scholarships to over 150 aspiring veterinary technicians, helping to alleviate student debt and promote diversity in the field. In light of the recent natural disasters impacting areas of the southeast U.S., we’re thankful for the first responders on the ground helping families and their pets during this time. We humbly contribute to the work American Humane is doing to rescue displaced and injured animals, and we are proud that the Zoetis Foundation supports the American Red Cross Annual Disaster Giving Program so communities can receive help at a moment’s notice.

Veterinary Healthcare Teams (VHTs) dedicate their careers to something they love – caring for animals. But too often, they’re unprepared for the mental toll that comes with this passion. VHTs face high client demands, mounting student debt, and overwhelming workloads. Many lack the necessary resources or training to manage these stressors effectively. Mental health programs that incorporate horses can help meet people exactly where they need the support. It’s because of our belief in the healing power of horses that we’ve been supporting Horses for Mental Health’s Seen Through Horses campaign for three years in a row to raise awareness, engagement, and access to equine-assisted services (EAS). We’re thrilled to see awareness of EAS growing so that more and more people can seek this type of program out as a viable option to support mental health.
