As the new year kicks off, construction at the Ohio Expo Center & State Fairgrounds is in full swing! Here are some highlights of recent and ongoing work being done as part of Phase 1 of the Expo 2050 Master Plan: ? Ohio Showcase Building:? ??- Most of the building's steel frame skeleton is done.? ??- Second-floor beams and roof beams are now in place.? ??- Portions of the metal roof deck over the sloped roof area in the northwest portion of the building are being installed and welded.? ??- Second floor composite metal deck is going in on top of the steel support beams, with concrete pouring soon on top of that deck.? ??- Underground plumbing lines will be roughed in so piping can be installed in restrooms, kitchens, and more.?? ? The multi-purpose agriculture building:? ??- The large exhibit hall is nearly framed out with steel columns, frame, and massive steel trusses.? ??- Metal roof deck is being installed.? ??- Plumbing contractors are beginning the trenching for the underground plumbing lines. Both buildings are slated for completion in 2026. Learn more about the vision for the Expo 2050 Master Plan by visiting https://lnkd.in/gxCJXPtk. While Ardra Zinkon, CLD IALD escaped to sunny Florida last weekend, Courtney Van Ostran, FSMPS, CPSM escaped the winter weather at one of our recently opened projects, the Newark Arcade. It was great to see this project bring people together in February to explore local shops and see what is to come at the renovated downtown shopping destination. Zinkon creative Studio provided lighting design for the restored the Newark Arcade, which was a community effort to bring this historic indoor experience to life again.

As we celebrate Black History Month, our team reflects on and honors the many contributions and impacts of African Americans on our culture, educational programs, cultural events, and the achievements and struggles of Black Americans. Recently, our team visited the completed Martin Luther King, Jr. library in Cleveland, a project we collaborated on with J. KURTZ Architects and SO – IL that aims to continue a legacy of strengthening community networks and generating opportunities for advancement. We are proud to have been a part of this facility, honoring Dr. King’s legacy with a welcoming and encouraging atmosphere.
