ZICO was out in full force at the @Surf City Marathon & Half Marathon today! ????♂???♀? We handed out 20,000+ samples to help runners hydrate and recover post-run, and six of us from the ZICO Rising team hit the pavement ourselves for the half marathon. Living the brand! ???? Huge congratulations to all the runners and to the ZICO Run Club for showing up strong. Nothing better than seeing our coconut water in action, fueling performance and recovery where it matters most!

Do you ever get a feeling that everything is finally falling into place? I remember sensing that around 2008, right before ZICO Rising started to scale nationwide. In the early years of ZICO, I used to start my 4:30 AM runs with a mantra: “Everyone loves ZICO.” That was wishful thinking at the time. Some days, we owed more in parking tickets than we made in sales. But by 2008, everything started to click, lots of people did love ZICO and the brand began taking off. Last week, I was met with that falling-into-place feeling when I spoke at the ZICO all-USA-hands meeting. I got to introduce our new CEO, Christopher Gallant, and see Thomas Hicks, our Chief Commercial Officer in his “zone of genius,” pumping up the team about how big the opportunity in front of them is. As they reviewed their results this year (beating a lofty budget) and plans for next year (strong growth and driving towards profitability), I just had this knowing: it’s happening again! ZICO is much bigger than we were in 2008, and the prospects for growth are even larger today. As much as I LOVED the old ZICO team, this team is off-the-charts great. The wishful thinking is over: The reality is ZICO is going to be bigger than ever – and this time it’s going to be built to last.
