The Royal Canadian Air Force now has access to new technology made to help find individuals in distress faster. The Cellular Airborne Sensors for Search and Rescue (CASSAR) system uses individuals cell phones to locate and communicate with them. After a fruitless multi-week search for a hiker missing in the Glencoe Mountains (Scotland), two mountain rescue workers decided to launch their new drone. Loaded with a homemade AI, the drone was designed to help search vast areas faster than any human eye. The drone ended the weeks long search, discovering the hiker's body within an hour.
