?? Congratulations to Ashley Chohlis, named a 2025 Champion of Hope! We’re especially proud because Ashley is part of our Safety Cohort for School Administrators, a dedicated peer group within the ZeroNow Community where superintendents and board members collaborate on real-world safety challenges and share what’s working. Ashley embodies exactly why we created this space — to bring together district leaders who are leading with both compassion and clarity when it comes to school safety. If you're a superintendent passionate about shaping school safety, we hope you’ll join us. Because the work is too important — and too complex — to do alone. Ashley Chohlis, we’re honored to have you in the cohort. Read more about her recognition: https://lnkd.in/e6Wysf85

On this day in March of 2005, lives were senselessly ended on the Red Lake Indian Reservation in Red Lake, Minnesota. After taking the life of his grandfather and his grandfather’s girlfriend, a 16-year-old drove to Red Lake Senior HS in Red Lake Independent School District #38 where he shot and killed seven people and wounded at least nine others. An unarmed security guard at the entrance of the school, a teacher, and five students died that day. Today is a good day to recommit to preventing violence in schools. At #ZeroNow, we are all in this together. #SaferSchools

We’re just two weeks into the Foundations of School Safety Leadership course—and already the feedback from our first group of students says it all: ?? “This is exactly the kind of foundational framework school safety leaders need. I’m impressed by the structure—and excited for what’s ahead.” ?? “The perspectives shared were powerful. I’ve already gained new insights, and I’m looking forward to learning from others in this group.” ?? “The agenda is strong, the content is relevant, and the conversations feel real. It’s clear this was built by people who understand the work.” This program was designed to meet school safety leaders where they are—equipping them with a solid framework to lead safety efforts with clarity, confidence, and connection to others doing the work. We're grateful to those joining us on this journey, and we’re energized by the conversations taking shape already. Whether you're attending live or catching the recordings, it’s clear that our community is full of people committed to moving school safety forward. More to come as the course continues! #schoolSafety #leadershipdevelopment #ZeroNow #NCSSD #saferschools Ara Bagdasarian Jonathan Kassa Guy Bliesner Danielle Stevens, IPEM Aaron Skrbin, Ed.D.
