Her battle with Acute Scoliosis has not stopped her motivation, drive, education or creativity in any way. In fact, it has only propelled her further towards her goals. Tested with Zero-G, bound for the Moon. ?? What do mini-rovers, 3D cameras, and a time capsule of human voices have in common? They’ve all been tested on a Zero-G research flight, proving their mettle before their next big adventure: the Moon. Tomorrow, our friends at MIT have 3 payloads which will land on the lunar surface courtesy of Intuitive Machines' IM-2 Lander. Swipe to see a photo of the AstroAnt, which MIT engineers envision working as one of a “swarm” of miniature helper bots. These bots will perform essential tasks in future missions, such as clearing dust from solar panels and checking for cracks in lunar habitats and other infrastructure. ???? Watch one of the oldest art forms in history float in zero gravity for the first time ever. ??? Origami is believed to have originated over 2,000 years ago in Asia, which is around the very time paper itself was invented. Knowing how gravity affects origami and other manmade polymers on land, the team from Auburn University and NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration wondered if they could use this information to further advance their research in zero gravity conditions. Next stop, G-Force One. ?? The main question: "How does a shape memory polymer self-fold if there is no gravity?" Watch this clip to see how they test it aboard G-Force One. Our Zero-G Science Correspondent, Erin Winick Anthony, challenged one of our research teams, Sierra Lobo, Inc., to describe their research in under a minute. ?? We'd say he passed the sub-60-second test with flying colors. Sierra Lobo joined us aboard G-Force One for some crucial research and testing. How can they prevent contamination of certain materials in zero gravity conditions? For Build Beyond, LLC, flying in zero gravity was "absolutely necessary" for their research, as they can only simulate a portion of what is needed for testing in Earth’s gravity.
