The Bring Change to Mind (BC2M) Club at BASIS Scottsdale is excited to announce a statewide virtual, intergenerational conversation aimed at tackling back-to-school anxiety. The event, organized by dedicated rising high school juniors, will take place on August 19th from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM PST. This initiative seeks to ignite meaningful mental health discussions and provide essential tools and resources for teens, parents, teachers, and caregivers. Event Highlights: Interactive Sessions: The event will feature breakout activities designed to foster engaging and open discussions about mental health. Digital Resources: Participants will gain access to comprehensive digital materials that detail the impacts of anxiety on the mind, body, and behavior, along with strategies for healthy management. Expert Q&A: Dr Chandra is a faculty at the University of Missouri Kansas City School of Medicine. He is Double Board Certified in Psychiatry and Child & Adolescent Psychiatry. Dr. Chandra’s research interests include anxiety and mood disorders. He will lead a Q&A session, offering expert insights and answering participants' questions. The primary goal of this virtual conversation is to bridge the communication gap between teens and adults on sensitive mental health topics, such as anxiety. By doing so, the club aims to encourage a supportive environment where students feel comfortable discussing their challenges and seeking help. Additionally, the event aspires to equip parents, teachers, and caregivers with the knowledge and resources needed to effectively support the mental well-being of the youth in their lives.
