November is the official month of Warrior Care. Warrior Care Month is led by the Department of Defense to increase awareness of programs and resources available to wounded, ill, and injured service members and their families. The Secretary of Defense wanted to inform military members as well as surrounding communities about the programs offered through the Warrior Care system, hence Warrior Care Month was created in 2008. Warrior Care holds many roles, including recovery, rehabilitation and reintegration back to duty or transition back into civilian life. It can also include becoming educated about the needs of wounded warriors across all branches. While providing excellent care to these members Is aimed to be a year-round mission, Warrior Care Month is a great opportunity to focus more heavily on their needs. Warriors and their needs have changed over the years, but military base care activities still hold a high priority for our Warriors. Veterans Day is a holiday recognized by the federal government dedicated to honoring those who have served in the military, in war and peace. It commemorates the conclusion of World War 1 in 1918 at the “the eleventh hour of the eleventh day on the eleventh month.” Our veterans represent loyalty, bravery, and strength of character that our country was founded on. Today, and every day, we celebrate their accomplishments and victories and extend them our full support as an indebted nation. Happy Birthday to the United States Marine Corps! November 10th is the 249th birthday of the United States Marine Corps and celebrates the bravery of every Marine to answer the call to action. The Few The Proud have been serving on land, air, and sea for over two centuries as the first response to potential threats to our country, and their fortitude cannot be overstated. The USMC prepares their Marines for any circumstance using Special Operations troops that combine aviation, ground, and amphibious assets. A Marine’s willingness and determination is unmatched.
