Summer may only come once a year, but we make a point to send the season out with a bang (or this year, a bull). ZCS Summer Fest 2024 was a success as members of our four offices gathered to celebrate each other. Highlights of this year included: -?The 3rd annual Chornhole?? Tournament (Luke and Mason were the beanbag slingin’ dream team) -?The crowning of the Cook-off Champions (Malia slayed with spicy salsa & Olive demolished the dessert division) -?A Mechanical Bull (Yeehaw!) -?MC/DJ to keep us roaring (MJ mixed w/ Metallica… Whaaat?) -?A chipping competition (Golf, not teeth!) Each year, we are reminded how lucky we are to have a crew that works hard and plays harder. We’re thrilled to announce that the Nestucca High School CTE project was recognized as a Top Project by Daily Journal of Commerce Oregon. This new Career and Technical Education space features an expansive shop for welding and industrial manufacturing, a flex space with a woodshop, wet lab, agricultural science labs, and small engine repair counters, as well as a weight room utilized by student athletes and physical education classes year-round. Congratulations to the Oregon Tech Baja SAE team on their 16th overall finish after a grueling 4-hour endurance race last weekend. The dedication and hard work of the team culminated in the best finish in OIT history. SAE collegiate design events stand as the largest engineering design competitions in the world and are always chock-full of fierce competition, with this year’s event featuring over 70 teams.
