Arrive Early: Better to be an hour early and wait nearby than a minute late. 2. Iron your clothes, be presentable and sharp. 3. Research: know the person(s), the company website, mission, vision, and values. Be ready to discuss how you align with them. LinkedIn is your friend here, find areas of commonality. 4. Professional Demeanor: Have a firm handshake, maintain eye contact, and I always like to take a notebook and pen with me. Keep an open and confident posture. 5. Breathe and Pace Yourself: Take deep breaths before starting, slow down your speech, and avoid fillers by pausing instead, this will cause the listener to be more attentive as well. 6. Active Listening: Focus on the interviewer’s words and incorporate what you hear into your responses. 7. Use the STAR method, situation, task, action and response, tell the full story. These tips can help you make a strong impression in your accounting interviews.
