What do I like most about making my career in the fresh produce business? I’m asked this question regularly when I speak to students at Texas A&M University. And the answer that comes to my mind immediately every time: I love that I have been able to speak at my four daughters’ classes over the last 20 years and speak openly and honestly about promoting something that is of this Earth, that is healthy and that truly makes a positive difference in lives of people daily. Fresh Produce matters! Our roles in this industry are much more than a salary and a title. We are promoting a healthy lifestyle! I’m so proud to be a part of this industry. There are enough PO’s to go around. Wear your role with pride, my peers. Let’s continue to promote this amazing industry. Whether you are a buyer or seller, you are making a difference!
