It's been a whirlwind of a year -- and we'd love to give a trail trot tribute to this terrific team! Claire Clapp Adams and Nela Rullan joined us in June and July, working alongside Rocio Chavez who's been with us since Spring 2023. Last week we had an immersive site visit experience from a different perspective. It gave us renewed appreciation for trail clearances and running slopes. ??

We had a wonderful time this week at the 2024 California Trails and Greenways Conference in Tahoe! We are thrilled to share that our work on the Southern San Mateo County California Coastal Trail Feasibility Study earned a Planning Merit Award! It is an honor to be recognized for our dedication to creating accessible public spaces. Liz Westbrook along with Zionne Fox, PMP, CPRP, Garret Hammack, & Vishal Ream-Rao, AICP had a great time presenting on the same project. This project was an ambitious multi-agency collaboration led by the Peninsula Open Space Trust (POST), aimed at expediting the completion of the most challenging Coastal Trail gaps in San Mateo County. Over 18 months, we examined 18 miles of coastline, analyzing safety, community priorities, and funding requirements to determine feasible trail routes and segment prioritization. Thank you to all of our project partners for your invaluable input and contribution to this project!? Peninsula Open Space Trust (POST), Caltrans District 4, California State Parks, Sustainable Pescadero, PMAC, Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District, San Mateo Resource Conservation District, OneShoreline, San Mateo County Parks, San Mateo County Planning & Building, Coastside Land Trust, City of Half Moon Bay, California State Coastal Conservancy, California Coastal Commission, and County of San Mateo Office of Sustainability. Shout out to our amazing Feasibility Study team: Timothy Best, Andrew Lee, Bryanna Whitney, Emma C., Sofia Zander, and Rocio Chavez!
